WHAT IS HISTORY?

 

 History is the study of past events or occurrences even as they relate to the future.

it is an unending dialogue or conversation between the past and present.  it is the study of past human societies and institutions,which include the cultural, religious,social , even the political angles. it is a chronological and sequential records of events which are very important for the development of various societies. 

 History contain  inquiries ,research,evidences and interpretations of past events, present and future events,thus answering the how, why and when questions which are documented  by humans , in various ways and format.The father and founder of history is known as Herodotus Halicarnassus. This was as a result of the work which he wrote which is known as THE HISTORIES OR HISTORIA( in Greek ) that contains a detailed account of war between the Greeks and Persians.A person who is trained and well grounded in the study of History is known as a historian. Historians write on  historical occurrences and find results to unanswered questions regarding history.  Some well known past and present historians are Leopold Von Rank,John King Fair bank( Chinese historian),Xenophon,Ken Burns,and Herodotus.
